We are seeing a large increase in the challenges that face young adults, specifically Millennials. This extremely intelligent generation has shown an increase in their desire to chase dreams and establish self-sufficiency. However, with this increased initiative the enemy is targeting them in a greater capacity with depression and challenges that often make their purpose and dreams seem impossible. As a result many do not make it to their calling and fall beneath the weight of the world and often have no one to turn to help them believe in who they are in Christ and the ability they have to conquer their challenges and fulfill their dreams. Unfortunately, the sad part of this is we have seen an increase in suicide and depression. Until we teach these young adults how to accomplish their goals during conflicting circumstances, finding their peace and power in Christ,  we will not see a change in the sad statistics that are plaguing our society.

COMMON OBSTACLES FACING MILLENNIALS :      

  #1 More educated but fewer employed

  Millennials make up 40% of the unemployment rate

  #2 Average earnings are the lowest since 1980

  Millennials averaged $33,883 between 2009– 2013 which is $4000 a year less than in 2000

#3 Highest level of clinical anxiety, stress, and depression

Millennials dealt with more of these emotional issues than any generation previously at the same age

#4 47% of births occur at the age of 30 at a non-marital status

Millennials are waiting longer to get married and have children

#5 More Millennials live at home with parents

#6 More Millennials have difficulty securing a job that utilizes their degree

#7 Less Millennials are likely to be homeowners than in previous generations due to financial challenges

#8 Fewer Millennials are becoming entrepreneurs

Many fail to search for multi-streams of income utilizing their multiple skill sets. These challenges do not represent all Millennials, however, the challenge does still exist for far too many.

The education system has become a direct target of the enemy as we have seen in the following statistics. It is quit clear the enemy is targeting this multi-talented, technologically advanced, socially skilled, life-changer generation through education.

ALARMING STATISTICS:

  #1 Through 2015 school shootings among colleges were at 76 incidents

#2 More than half occurred during the school day

#3 Almost all (95%) were current students

#4 71% of attackers felt persecuted, bullied, threatened, or injured by someone prior to the incident (often referred to as long-standing)

#5 78% of attackers had a history of suicide attempts or suicidal thoughts prior to the attack

#6 98% of the attackers experienced or perceived a major loss prior to the attack

#7 73% held a grievance against at least one of their targets

#8 1 out of 6 acted out after a verbal altercation

#9 26.8% of attackers committed suicide after the attack

 HOW ARE WE MINISTERING TO MILLENNIALS?

First of all we understand we cannot not isolate Millennials from worldly challenges and worldly judgment that often present itself.  Nor can we eliminate the existence of these things in society. The goal is not to eliminate but to educate. This program will truthfully face the facts of what they can encounter and how to respond as they deal with life challenges without giving up on their dreams. They truly face some of the greatest challenges seen to date, yet their potential far surpasses previous generations and they have been denied appreciation for their initiative and voice. It is time we not only see the potential, but help Millennials surface the potential through the challenges they face and take their stand as life-changing Christians who walk out the purpose God has birthed in their spirit.

•We will help each individual discover who they are in Christ understanding that their past does not determine their destination and helping them realize their equality with all individuals despite back ground, race, or gender.

•We will help each individual uncover negative unproductive mindsets that keep them from permanently changed positive lifestyles.

•We will help them develop appropriate reactions to inappropriate actions that come against them challenging their continued freedom.

•We will help each individual develop a time-management plan that eliminates stress and maximizes potential.

•We will help each individual develop leadership qualities that take initiative in society involvement.

•We will help each individual utilize social media to make positive impacts to society.
